There are two lengths of rope, each one can burn in exactly 1 hour. They are not necessarily of the same length or width as each other. By burning the ropes.

How do you measure exactly 45 minutes worth of time?

Cut the Rope — divide the rope into 4 parts then each part will be burn specifically every 15 minutes.

So, to make it burn at exactly 45 minutes, reduced it by removing 1/4. Then, burn the remaining 3/4. Certainly, it will burnout within 45 minutes.

Without Cutting — burn rope 'A' in both end it will last 30 minutes.

Burn rope 'B' on one end and right after rope 'A' completely finish. Burn the other end. It will burn out at exactly 15 minutes. The point to make the whole rope end the process at exactly 45 minutes.
