Nature is lending a helping hand to those affected by Typhoon #Haiyan, thanks to the Leapfrog Project, which has created glowing "living" balls that provide much-needed light for women and children in dark or dimly lit places in the Philippines.

The balls contain local debris and bioluminescent plankton - marine microorganisms - "that can produce light when disturbed,” according to Lira Luis, head of the Leapfrog Project. What other ways can we work with nature to help us in our daily lives?
